John Blackmore is a Canadian born artist with an appreciation of the beauty of Canada’s North West and the Arctic. His artwork reflects his sense of place.
Although John has traveled the world extensively, he has chosen Vancouver Island as his home bringing with him his knowledge of painting “wet on wet” in oil. As a Bob Ross Certified Instructor® since 1995, John has conducted countless workshops, teaching hundreds of people how nice it is to paint using this age old technique.
Bruce and Laurel Stanton, Certified Ross Instructors® work together with John to share the exact methods and techniques in workshops and demonstrations in British Columbia Canada as used by Bob Ross® in The Joy of Painting ® television series . Students of any level are very welcome to attend as all the instructors are accustomed to working with all levels of artists and will accommodate each individuals needs.
Wet-on-wet painting involves starting out with a canvas that has been coated in media that stays wet throughout the painting process. This allow us to blend and move paint right on the canvas enabling us to complete an entire painting in one session.
It is that easy to get started painting “wet on wet” at any one of the classes as we supply all the tools and materials needed for the class right down to the canvas. You need bring only clothes and shoes that you do not mind getting a little paint on. You will leave the class with your own oil-on- canvas creation.
